BLADE 4 Movie 2012

BLADE 4 Movie

BLADE 4 MOVIE
Wesley Snipes reveals that he’d be up for starring in Blade 4 if the script was right. What does this mean for the spin offs reported on last year?
In the age of reboots, remakes and an insurmountable number of sequels to established franchises, we may yet have another.

According to the Arrow in the Head section of JoBlo, Wesley Snipes is interested in doing Blade 4 and I want him to do it. Underworld is getting a fourth movie, the Twilight Saga is getting two fourth movies, why not the most bad-ass (half) vampire as well?

Snipes specified that he was interested but would only do it if the script was right. What that translates to, is no more side-kick characters like the Nightstalkers of Blade: Trinity, played by Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel. That was a problem behind-the-scenes as they stole some of the precious spotlight away from the title character of the film, at least, according to Snipes.

Last year we heard some interesting news regarding the Blade franchise and it seemed that the plan was to go ahead with another trilogy, a set of spinoff prequels based on the character of Deacon Frost. Frost, played by Stephen Dorff, was the feature villain of the first Blade movie where he met his end. While Frost was a cool character, we need Blade.

Stephen Norrington, director of the first Blade, confirmed this to be the case and said he’d be returning to the franchise once he was done working on his remake of The Crow.

Not long after that news, David Goyer revealed that there was some talk behind the scenes about possibly doing another Blade movie. He didn’t specify any details and with his other major work lined up with bigger movies like Batman 3, I don’t know if he’d be involved with the writing of a fourth Blade even though he wrote all three, the television series pilot and even directed Trinity.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a return to form like the first movie where Blade is the sole lead character, Norrington is back directing and Goyer again writing. However, with the villains he’s faced so far in the series, I don’t know what direction he’d go in next unless they introduced the long-speculated Morbius storyline. It’s not like Sam Raimi will be using the character in Spider-Man anytime soon…

So, if there’s a chance of another Wesley Snipes-starring Blade movie, does that replace the Deacon Frost project that Norrington was developing?

Would you be up for a fourth Blade and what would it be about?

Actor Wesley Snipes has been talking about a Blade 4 movie:
“There has been some talk about a Blade 4. I would be interested if the script was right.”
But Wesley Snipes won’t necessarily have the lead role in Blade 4. I heard that Director Stephen Norrington and Scriptwriter David Goyer are rather thinking about doing a prequel that would focus on the character of Deacon Frost, who was played by Stephen Dorff in the first film, so Wesley Snipes’s role as the vampire hunter would be limited…

Well, time will tell! For now, Director Stephen Norrington is still busy with a remake of the Crow.
There have been talks about a possible new Blade movie since quite a long time. Director Stephen Norrington and Scriptwriter David Goyer were even thinking about doing a prequel that would focus on the character of Deacon Frost (played by Stephen Dorff in the first film) instead of Blade (Wesley Snipes)...

But fans are still hoping that Blade 4 would star Wesley Snipe as the lead character. Well, seems like this could happen since Wesley Snipes said he would be interested in doing it:
"There has been some talk about a Blade 4. I would be interested if the script was right."
  • Actor Wesley Snipes
He confirmed again his interest in doing Blade 4 during an
"Man, this has been coming up quite a bit. I'm really surprised to see how people are anticipating me doing another one, so you never know.

There are some things we really want to do that we didn't get a chance to do. The first and the second one were experiments, and we started to get better. If we do another one, it will reflect our maturity and our better understanding of the genre

[I'd like to see] a larger, multiracial cast, and it would be great to have some rehearsals before some of the action sequences."
  • Actor Wesley Snipes
Well let's hope the studios will Wesley Snipes and that the movie Blade 4 will be greenlit soon!
Well it looks like perhaps New Line has learned their lesson where Blade is concerned… namely that the Blade franchise is all about Blade, not hot, young sidekicks however well acted and funny they may be. David Goyer of course doesn’t agree, so according to a rumor being run by the folks at MoviesOnline.ca, he’s out the door for a proposed Blade 4.

Yep, word is that despite word to the contrary a few months back and lackluster reception for Blade Trinity, Blade 4 is happening. According to their scooper, Snipes was already signed for another movie after Trinity, so if they are right and plans for the fourth film do go ahead, he’s probably a lock… unless he finally completely loses his mind and leaves the country or goes on a crazed killing spree. With Wesley you never know.

This is great news if true, I hated seeing Blade’s last cinematic outing be a mediocre movie where he’s minimized to a supporting character in his own film. Hopefully this also means New Line is scraping Goyer’s silly idea for a spinoff featuring Hannibal King and Whistler II as a way to avoid having to work with Snipes again.

Of course this is all still rumor, so keep checking back here till we pop up with some confirmation. That was a tease to keep you coming back even though I know as well as you do there probably will be none any time soon. Hey, click some banners too!
Blade, now a wanted man by the FBI, must join forces with the Nightstalkers to face his most challenging enemy yet: Dracula

Wesley Snipes returns as legendary vampire hunter Blade in this, the third film inspired by the popular Marvel Comics character. A fearless warrior immune to vampires, Blade (Snipes) has become a hated enemy of the bloodsucking community, and as they gather in their desert compound, a group of vampires is plotting to eliminate Blade once and for all by turning the mortal community against him. The vampires have concocted a misinformation campaign that paints a picture of Blade as a ruthless murderer and has sent the FBI on the vampire hunter’s trail, led by the relentless agent Cumberland (James Remar). At the same time, the vampires have brought their founding father, Dracula, back to his undead state, renaming him Drake (Dominic Purcell) and investing him with special powers that allow him to walk unharmed in daylight.

After a dangerous encounter with Cumberland, Blade and his ally, Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), form an uneasy alliance with a scruffy team of human vampire slayers, the Nighstalkers, led by Hannibal King (Ryan Reynolds), and Whistler’s daughter, Abigail (Jessica Biel. While Sommerfield (Natasha Lyonne), a biologist working with the Nightstalkers, researches a scientific answer to the vampire problem, Blade and his comrades take a more hands-on approach against Drake and his minions, including Danica Talos (Parker Posey), Asher (Callum Keith Rennie), and Grimwood (Triple H). Blade: Trinity was directed by David Goyer, who also wrote the screenplay for this film, as well as the first two movies in the series. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Please leave the prequel Frost Idea alone. It will just be a waste of money again like Blade 3. Stop trying to take away creative license from Wesley as well. Like it or not he personified the character and that's just how it is. Make Blade 4, make the cast more multiracial and make it a point to team him up with Karen again! Reincarnate Frost if need be...They did it a lot in the comics! Make 4 resemble 1. People will embrace Blade just don't do anything as stupid as what was done with Blade trinity.
