WORLD WAR Z
Storyline
A UN representative, writing a report on the great zombie war, interviews survivors in the wake of World War Z.Actor Brad Pitt has been spotted on the set of World War Z, the upcoming movie adaptation of the post-apocalyptic zombie novel of the same name written by Max Brook:
Earlier this week, Paramount Pictures announced a release date of December 21, 2012, for their adaptation of World War Z, making the movie's theatrical run official. While this had to please fans of the best-selling novel by Max Brooks that inspired the movie, the version that reaches the big screen may have plenty of audience members remarking: "You should have read the book."
Set years after a zombie apocalypse, World War Z (the novel) is a series of fictionalized conversations about the world's reaction to a zombie epidemic, serving as a social commentary on the world's preparedness (or lack thereof) to a threat of that magnitude. The novel was almost universally praised for its original take on the zombie premise, one that can often be turned into the same, stale product. According to the synopsis revealed by ShockTillYouDrop, the movie version may be just that — a movie — and that's probably not going to please the novel's rabid fanbase.
WORLD WAR Z MOVIE
Author Max Brook confirmed that there’s a movie adaptation of his bestseller zombie novel World War Z. Director Marc Forster (who directed Quantum of Solace) is set to helm the project Paramount Pictures. And Actor Brad Pitt will have a lead role.World War Z, the post-apocalyptic horror novel written by Max Brooks, may well get a movie adaptation in a not too distant future: Paramount Pictures who won a bidding war back in 2006 for the feature film rights have renewed their option for a World War Z movie. So we're confident that the project will enter in production sooner than later. The film is currently listed for a release in 2012 on IMDb. Director Marc Forster is for now attached to the film and Actor Brad Pitt (he's already on board as producer) could well be part of the cast.
Plot:
“A researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from all over the world in order to put together a post-mortem on a war that destroyed every country around the globe. A war involving nasty flesh eating zombies…”Word War Z makes for a thrilling read. Glad they’re going to bring this master piece to the big screen. I wonder if they’re going to keep the same structure though: the book is actually collection of individual accounts in the form of interviews of different characters. And along the story we get a better picture of the origins of World War Z and how it changed the world. I’d think it’s too much for just one movie, so I guess they will simplify the whole thing for the film.
They’re eying a Summer 2012 release for the movie World War Z.
"A researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from all over the world in order to put together a post-mortem on a war that destroyed every country around the globe. A war involving nasty flesh eating zombies..."
The book World War Z is a collection of individual accounts in the form of interviews with characters conducted by the author. Along the story we get a better picture of what happened and what led to new political order in post World War Z. Let's hope that the script of the World War Z movie won't deviate by too much from the book, and that it won't boil down to a collection of gruesome scenes.
