THE GREY Movie Release Date
In Alaska, an oil drilling team struggle to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Hunting the humans are a pack of wolves who see them as intruders. The Grey is an upcoming adventure thriller drama movie directed by Joe Carnahan based on a script he co-wrote with Ian Jeffers. The story revolves around the survivors of a harrowing plane crash who are then hunted down by a pack of wild wolves. The cast of the Grey includes Liam Neeson, Dallas Roberts, James Badge Dale, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, Nonso Anozie, and Joe Anderson. The release date is set for January 27, 2012.
The Grey follows an oil drilling team who survive a plane crash only to be hunted down by a pack of wolves. Just like Valentine’s Day in Canada. Only more romantic.
Not a ton of details have been revealed as of yet for The Grey, as it is going to be released in 2012, but the film is mostly a sausage fest, led by Liam Neeson. I wonder if the wolves are hunting them because of the sausage fest aspect of the story? Hmmm… Will investigate further.
Here's a first look at the movie The Grey:
Plot of The Grey
"In Alaska, an oil drilling team struggle to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Hunting the humans are a pack of wolves who see them as intruders."A few words from director Joe Carnahan about the Grey:
"It's a hard-R exploration of the male id, I guess [laughs]. That's an encapsulated version of it. Yeah, I'm very proud of it. But listen, it's also kind of a horror film. It's a monster movie — not in a Cloverfield sense, though. This is something that has a real basis in reality, and that's what interests me. These guys are pursued by wolves. It's a very straight-forward, traditional kind of Jaws-like assault on the moviegoer."
_Director Joe Carnahan
Yet another movie that will revive our ancestral fear of wolves... Sure they're dangerous animals, but man is more than ever the ultimate predator. Anyway, there are some real talents attached to the film, so I'll definitely go watch the Grey movie when it comes out in theaters.
Anyway, more information about the movie The Grey soon.
The Scoop
Joe Carnahan, who last directed Liam Neeson in the unbearable The A Team, is yet again making a film that hopefully no one will see. The Grey is said to be a survival thriller, so I’m expecting something similar to The Edge, except it isn’t written by David Mamet or starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. So it won’t be as good. Plus, killer bear is cooler that killer wolves.Credited cast:
