Storyline
Civil War vet John Carter is transplanted to Mars, where he discovers a lush, wildly diverse planet whose main inhabitants are 12-foot tall green barbarians. Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter Dejah Thoris, Princess of Helium, who is in desperate need of a savior.

Disney has released the first movie trailer of John Carter, the upcoming fantasy adventure movie directed by Andrew Stanton:“I’m not in post-production — I’m in digital principal photography now, which goes on for the rest of 2011, so I’m only halfway through the movie… I didn’t try to make it look like anything else. I really tried to make it its own thing. I tried to make a very historically accurate Martian film if that makes sense, so I’ll let you decipher that.”

A very historically accurate Martian film? I guess it means the movie will be faithful to the spirit of Edgar Rice Burrough’s novel… so don’t expect Mars to be a red desert, but rather a lush jungle. What do you think?
