ROCKY 7
ROCKY 7 MOVIE
The boxer Rocky Balboa came out of retirement in Rocky 6, and it seems he doesn’t want go back to his peaceful life as restaurant owner. Sylvester Stallone told indeed that he would like to make Rocky 7! Legends never die, but time is catching up with Sylvester Stallone… I know he is still fit, but I’m not sure that over-extending the Rocky franchise is for the best…I for one was completely against the idea of Sylvester Stallone doing Rocky 6 (aka “Rocky Balboa”). I thought it was just a pathetic attempt by a once influential actor to achieve relevance again. Well, for those of you who have read The Movie Blog for any length of time, you know I ended up LOVING Rocky Balboa. it was a perfect ending to the franchise. Beautiful and heart pounding at the same time. Brilliant work.
But it was OVER. It’s finished… the Rocky saga is done. Well… don’t tell MGM that. The studio is now saying that Rocky 7 is a possibility. The folks over at
Why would they do this? Where else can you go with Rocky? They’ve played his final card already. There is litterally nowhere for the sotry of Rocky Balboa to go anymore unless the movie is about Rocky using his retirement to enter the world of competitive poker playing.
Yeah… I can see it now. The movie revolves around Rocky at a World Series of Poker event. The movie climaxes with Rocky going heads up with Chris Moneymaker (who we learn in the movie is both a communist AND a nazi that takes steroids and keeps cards up his sleeves), yet against all odds Rocky prevails winning with just a pair of twos in his hand. An emotional Robert (Rocky’s son) runs up to the table to hug his dad and apologize for ever doubting him. Rocky, moved by his son’s display of family affection vows to be a better father, and Robert vows to be a better son. DA DA da-da-da da-da-da da-da-da DA DA da-da-da da-da-da da-da-da… and so on and so forth.
I liked Rocky 6 MUCH more than Rambo 4… but I could totally see another Rambo film with the way the left off the last one. Not so much a Rocky 7. It would be a horrible mistake.

Anyway, here’s what Sylvester Stallone said about the movie Rocky 7:
“I know I’ll probably make a fool of myself if I make another Rocky film after turning 60. Even my wife says, ‘Don’t do it. You’re embarrassing the kids’. But I told her, ‘If I don’t try I’ll be a really unhappy man’.
[..]
You have to do it. Artists like me have to go through the dark over and over again.
[...]
When I was 21 years old and at drama school, my teacher said to me, ‘If you ever put your head out there, thousands of people will try to cut it off, but that’s exactly what you need to do as an artist.’”
Sylvester Stallone
Will Rocky Balboa go sci-fi and use some rejuvenation process based on stem cells so he could compete again? Or is he just going to train a young heir?
I’m not much interested in watching Rocky 7, but I must admit I’m curious how it’s gonna turn out!
Rocky 7 Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone must have enjoyed to wear boxing gloves again because he's planning to make yet another Rocky movie sequel! He's been talking indeed about making Rocky 7. He would develop this project once he would have wrapped Rambo 5..
Ok legends never die, but come on, do we really need a new Rambo movie? Sylvester Stallone is still a damn strong guy, he would knock me out with just half a blow, that's sure... But one can't deny that he's getting old... Why would we want to watch an old dude on the ring? And that wouldn't be new: he did it already with Rocky Balboa (aka Rocky 6).
Well, here's what the iconic Sylvester Stallone said:
"I know I'll probably make a fool of myself if I make another Rocky film after turning 60. Even my wife says, 'Don't do it. You're embarrassing the kids'. But I told her, 'If I don't try I'll be a really unhappy man'.
You have to do it. Artists like me have to go through the dark over and over again.
When I was 21 years old and at drama school, my teacher said to me, 'If you ever put your head out there, thousands of people will try to cut it off, but that's exactly what you need to do as an artist.' I know it’s ludicrous and everyone would laugh. I would laugh about it. But I also know that I’d be successful if I can make this a film about becoming older, not about boxing but about myself."
Sylvester Stallone
So Sylvester Stallone isn't imbued with himself and he knows that he can't just remake an other Rocky 6. A movie about becoming older? Is he going to be coach? Or is he going to clean up some unfortunate neighborhood (like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino)?
If you're fan of Sylvester Stallone and his movies do you have any advice for Rocky 7?

I personally can't wait for another "ROCKY" movie!! I grew up going to the rocky movies with my dad... It's our love for the rocky story that has kept us close over the years- repeating quotes from the movie when life gets tough!! I believe in Stallone's ability and talent to write a great script. The rocky story is an inspiration to us all one way or another... Not to mention the great workout music! So, "What's The Truth Damn It??" The Truth Is... We All Love Rocky!!
One man and 3o years of story, can't say lie for people. Rocky 7 may be the story he makes ready for the legend of his son. That's also Inspiring for youngsters. Anyway rocky is always best....
