Actor Mark Wahlberg is interested in producing and starring in The Raven, a science-fiction thriller feature film based on the short film of the same name by Ricardo de Montreuil. Universal is involved in the project. They're now developing the script. There's no official release date yet, but they're likely to fasttrack the film.Plot:
"In the future Los Angeles has become something of a police state. Chris Black possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him. The chase is on as Chris runs for his life."A quite impressive result knowing that this short film was produced on a shoestring budget with only $5,000!
The Raven definitely deserves to be turned into a feature film. I'm sure not Mark Wahlberg would be the right actor for the lead role though... He's getting old, and I'd imagine the fugitive to be young like in the original short film.
Anyway, let's wait for more details, it depends on the script they're writing after all. Besides Mark Wahlberg is a talented actor.
