BATTLESHIP 2012

BATTLESHIP Movie Release Date

Storyline of Battleship
A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals.
The first official movie trailer of Battleship, the upcoming movie based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, has been unleashed online:

Plot:
“The story follows an international Navy fleet engaged in a very dynamic and intense battle against an alien race known as the Regents. The aliens come to planet Earth, on a mission to build a power source in the ocean. Upon their visit, they come in contact with a navy fleet. The film is also purported to show both sides of the story, from the aliens’ perspective, as well as the humans.”

We also have a first teaser poster of Battleship:
The whole thing is a bit absurd, but I don’t mind: quite impatient to see this science-fiction film!

Directed by Peter Berg, the cast includes Alexander Skarsgard, Liam Neeson, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna, Josh Pence, Jesse Plemons and Peter MacNicol. The Battleship movie will be released in theaters on May 18, 2012.

“Battleship,” based on the Hasbro game, will unfold as a massive Naval adventure across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force.”
There’s no denying that Rihanna looks cute in her military uniform, but let’s hope she does have some real acting skill, and that her role in the movie Battleship isn’t just a PR stunt…
"Peter Berg (who brought us Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane."

The navy ships look so outdated next to the alien spaceships... Won't be a fair fight, but I guess there's a twist in the plot so mankind will defeat the invaders.
"A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals."

Director Peter Berg told more about this upcoming Battleship movie:
"There's a group of life forms from some other planet have come to our planet for something. They've got a very specific agenda. That agenda is not global domination. It's an agenda and that agenda puts them into conflict with members of our military. Their technology is relatable. It's not incredibly far out and unbeatable. It's comprehensible. Hopefully it'll make for good fun and an intense ride."

I'm not sure to understand how battleships and cruisers could fight against mighty alien invaders who are able to cross the void between the stars... But I suppose that Director Peter Berg will still manage to make the film entertaining and interesting to watch.

The movie Battleship will go IMAX, and will most likely be in 3D, or at least have some 3D sequences.
RIHANNA BATTLESHIP
Rihanna has been spotted on the set of Battleship, the upcoming science-fiction movie directed by Peter Berg, in which she has a supporting role:

BATTLESHIP MOVIE
Director Peter berg is tackling the movie adaptation of Battleship, the famous board game. But it won’t be the Battleship you may expect: Peter Berg’s Battleship is about a few battleships battling against an alien invasion! The cast hasn’t been announced yet.

Universal Studios is planning a movie adaptation of Battleship, the popular board-game invented by Clifford Von Wickler in the early 1900s. Director Peter Berg (who once brought us Hancock) has been hired to helm the project. The film is scheduled for a release on August 5, 201.

The film may claim some legacy from the board game, but it isn't exactly your grandfather's Battleship: plot details of Battleship have been revealed, and guess what, the plot involves an alien attack!
