Storyline of Bad Boys 3:
Bad Boys was released in 1995 and Bad Boys 2 in 2003 and both movies were big hits. Combination of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith made those two movies memorable. Recently director announced to make Bad Boys 3 with same star cast. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be part of upcoming sequel of Bad Boys. Bad Boys 3 release date is in 2012. Nothing is known so far about the complete star cast of Bad Boys 3 except the presence of famous couple Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. One thing I fail to understand that why there is huge gap of 8 years between Bad Boys and Bad Boys2 and now after another big gap of 8 years Bad Boys 3 is announced. There are many people who love the amazing combination of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence and wanted to see them together. Anyways good news is that Bad Boys 3 is coming and hopefully will be released in the year 2012.
Sony Pictures wants to produce a new Bad Boys movie! There has been talk of a Bad Boys 3 movie since a while, but nothing really concrete until Sony announced a few weeks ago that they have hired Scriptwriter Peter Craig to pen the screenplay of this third Bad Boys movie.
The Bad Boys movie franchise may not win the disdainful critics, but the public does enjoy watching the adventures of Miami detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence), and the two previous movies have been real blockbusters. So no wonder that a new Bad Boys sequel is under development.
Remember the scene in Michael Bay‘s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen where Sam is drawing symbols all over the walls of his dorm room? Yeah, we’ve tried to forget about it too. What you might not have noticed is that Sam writes the number 3 on a poster for the other Michael Bay sequel, Bad Boys II. Now we’ve learned that the studio is moving forward with development on a third film, but will the original crew return for one more adventure?
THR reports that Columbia Pictures has hired Peter Craig to write a screenplay for Bad Boys 3. But the project is only in the early stages and none of the participants have yet agreed to return.
The hope is to get both Martin Lawrence and Will Smith to return, alongside director Michael Bay and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Bruckheimer said in an interview that “When we had about two weeks of shooting left to go on Bad Boys II, Will and Martin were having such a good time, they phoned (Columbia studio boss) Amy Pascal and said, ‘We want to sign up for another one.’ So hopefully we’ll get them all back together again.”
At the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, Will Smith told Hollyscoop that he had an idea for Bad Boys 3, but added that “Michael (Bay) is too expensive now. He’s way too expensive.” And that is the big hurdle — getting the cash to bring back Will Smith, who has since exploded into a megastar, Bruckheimer, who never comes cheap, and Bay, who is now use to collecting percentages of toy merchandise Lucas-style.
All of the usual suspects have expressed an interest in coming back for a third movie, but only if they can get the story right. That’s where Craig comes in. For those of you who don’t recognize his name, you probably shouldn’t, as he has no completed screenwriting credits on his Hollywood resume.
He’s a published author known for his “darkly comic novels of imploding father-child relationships.” His novels include The Martini Shot, Hot Plastic, and Blood Father. As for Hollywood, he has been developing a few projects, mainly co-writing Ben Affleck’s The Town which begins shooting next month, and has been working on a live-action adaptation of the popular anime Cowboy Bebop for 20th Century Fox and Keanu Reeves. Oh, and he’s also the son of actress Sally Field.
Many of you know that I’m often a defender of Michael Bay. That said, I didn’t speak up after the release of Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen for obvious reasons. And before that, my least favorite films he’s made are the Bad Boys series. That’s not to say they’re bad, I just don’t like Martin Lawrence. The first Bad Boys film is interesting to watch just because you can tell Bay is on a leash, restrained by producers and budget, on his first feature film. His next two films, The Rock and Armageddon, are probably his most coherent, probably because it was a time when he still had structure.
Back to the Bad Boys films, I will say this — the car chase sequence in Bad Boys 2 is very under-appreciated, and is probably (wait for it.. hyperbolic statement coming up… in 3…2…1..) one of the best car chase action sequences of the last decade.
And hey, best case scenario, as GetStuck suggests, this and the Point Break sequel might lead to a Hot Fuzz 2… Just a thought.
Director Michael Bay is kind of busy with the Transformers 3, but he did say that he'd be glad to helm Bad Boys 3. That is, when he'll have time, so not before 2012...
Both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are more than likely to reprise their roles. There was a doubt about Will Smith who's become a huge star in between, but the first Bad Boys movie started his Hollywood career, so he feels some attachment for the franchise. Fortunately he kind of lifted that doubt:
"We need 'Bad Boys 3.' I was just watching 'Bad Boys 2' with my son and I told him you can’t open a movie better. That’s the best movie opening ever!"
_Will Smith
Let's knock on wood for the whole crew to come back for Bad Boys 3, especially Will Smith and Martin Lawrence!
Any suggestion to Scriptwriter Peter Craig about the plot of this upcoming Bad Boys III movie?

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer gave an update regarding the movie Bad Boys 3:Bad Boys 3 Trailer
“It’s a wish and a hope and a dream. We’ve been working on a screenplay, which is excellent. It’s an idea Will gave us, so hopefully, it will come to fruition, we would love it to.”_Producer Jerry Bruckheimer
Interesting to learn that Will Smith suggested his idea for the script of Bad Boys 3: this means he’s probably pushing for the film to be done, so there is hope indeed!
“Any time you can get Big Willie [Will Smith] to come out and talk about doing a third installment of a hot movie like ‘Bad Boys,’ you have to take notice. I met with Michael Bay, and he said he’s onboard too — so it’s real. I got Big Willie to come down and see me about the movie. I felt special. We’re just waiting on Jerry Bruckheimer to let us know when it’s really real.”

Glad to hear that the movie Bad Boys 3 is still on track, too bad there’s still no official release date though
BAD BOYS 3 MOVIE
Looks like there will be a Bad Boys 3 movie. Sony Pictures has indeed hired Peter Craig (that’s the same guy who’s writing the script of Cowboy Bebop) to pen the screenplay of a new Bad Boy movie. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are likely to reprise their roles as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. And Director Michael Bay may come back to helm the third opus of a movie series that really kick-started his blockbuster career.“We need ‘Bad Boys 3.’ I was just watching ‘Bad Boys 2′ with my son and I told him you can’t open a movie better. That’s the best movie opening ever!”
_Will Smith
But nothing is set in stone yet, so even if all the stakeholders would like to see the original Bad Boys crew to be back for the movie Bad Boys 3, don’t take for granted that they will be back. Bad Boys 3 doesn’t really need Michael Bay, but it wouldn’t be a Bad Boys movie without Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
Personal request to Peter Craig: I’d like to see some hint to Obama in Bad Boys 3!
Anyway, hope we’ll get more details about Bad Boys 3 soon!
