Ice Age 4 2012

Ice Age 4 Movie

StoryLine:
20th Century Fox has officially announced Ice Age 4 is moving forward and it’ll get released on July 13, 2012. Tentatively titled Ice Age: Continental Drift, the 3D animated movie was a given after the third film, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, made almost $900 million at the worldwide box office.

In fact, while some sequels make less than the previous film, each Ice Age installment has made more money than the one before. The original Ice Age made $383 million (worldwide), Ice Age: The Meltdown made $655 (worldwide), and I’ve already said the last one almost $900 million. That’s a staggering amount of money for a third film.

The other interesting note is the Ice Age movies have been getting released every three years since 2002. Using simple math, it’s safe to assume Ice Age 5 will hit theaters in 2015.
Ice Age 4: Continental Drift is the fourth entry in the Ice Age series, which will continue the zany adventures of the prehistoric animals.

Not a ton of details have been released yet, but it appears the characters will all be frozen solid in the past and thawed out in the present, and live in a museum in the present day.
You know what would be really funny? If it were scientifically accurate and the animals were thawed out and were dead.

Co-director of the last Ice Age film, Mike Thurmeier, will return, and this time work alongside Steve Martino on the new film. Martino last directed Horton Hears a Who! So you know he’s the best ever.

Michael Berg and Mike Reiss return to script the new film, so the quality overall looks to be pretty consistent.
Ice Age 4
Another "Ice Age" movie is heading to theaters in the next few years. 20th Century Fox has just announced that they are making the fourth film which is tentatively titled "Ice Age: Continental Drift".

This upcoming animation is slated for summer release, scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on July 13, 2012. Following the success of several 3-D movies lately, Fox plans to apply the same technology for the next "Ice Age" film.

Little has been known about the project beside the points mentioned above. No official plot synopsis has been released for the movie and the studio has not announced who will direct it.

"Ice Age: Continental Drift" will serve as a follow-up to 2009 "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs", which sees Manny, Diego and other members of their gang embarking on a mission to rescue Sid from a tropical lost world inhabited by dinosaurs beneath the ice. The third "Ice Age" film was named the second highest grossing animated film of all time with $884 million worldwide.

There is still no official confirmation as of today, but you can bet that a new Ice Age movie sequel is being planned by Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox. And actually some plot details of Ice Age 4 may have already leaked online!

Ain't It Cool News manage to get their hands not only on what could be the premise of Ice Age 4, but also on a possible title! According to them Ice Age 4 would be titled Ice Th4w, a pun on Ice Age Thaw and Ice Age 4, and here's the plot:
it seems a fourth Ice Age film has been well underway or the past few months. A friend of mine says the 4th installment sees Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and Scrat frozen solid and accidentally defrosted in a museum in present day.

At this stage the film is being called 'Ice Age Th4w'."
I've mixed feeling about this plot of Ice Age 4... It would probably make for a really funny movie, and I can definitely imagine Scrat the squirrel going nuts for hazel praline chocolate. But I would be sad if our friends from the Ice Age were stuck in our time... I hope that thanks to some plot twist our furry heroes would manage to go back in time and avoid their4 frozen fate. Maybe thanks to some alien time travel machine? It wouldn't be so far fetched, we did see a UFO in the first film after all!

Besides they definitely need to go back to the Ice Age so the franchise can continue! And you can't separate the young Peach from her father!

So please, do bring Ice Age 4, but if the plot above is real, I beg you to allow our friend to go back in time to the Ice Age with their families.

Fox also announced that Scrat is getting its own short film, titled Scrat’s Continental Crack Up, it will be shown in front of Gulliver’s Travels, beginning December 25, 2010. The special holiday treat sees Scrat still scrambling after the cursed acorn he’s been craving since the first Ice Age film. Only this time, the chase has world-changing consequences. Forget what you’ve learned in geology about the continents forming as a result of massive tectonic shifts and volcanic eruptions tearing land masses apart. Scrat’s Continental Crack Up reveals that these seismic crack-ups came about from Scrat’s nutty misadventures!

Update 2 – The full short film is now available online for us to watch:
We now have a release date for Ice Age 4: the film will be released on July 3, 2012. Fox and Blue Sky even revealed the title: “Ice Age Continental Drift”. I guess it means that the idea of bringing the Ice Age team to present day has been tossed away, at least for now. Wondering what continental drift is? Here’s a short definition:

Continental drift is the movement of the Earth’s continents relative to each other. The hypothesis that continents ‘drift’ was first put forward by Abraham Ortelius in 1596 and was fully developed by Alfred Wegener in 1912. However, it was not until the development of the theory of plate tectonics in the 1960s, that a sufficient geological explanation of that movement was found.
Looks like our friends from the Ice Age will embark on a new journey. Are they going to be separated by the oceans because of continental drift?
ICE AGE 4 MOVIE
A tipster contacted AICN and told them that a fourth Ice Age movie is being planned! Here’s the most interesting part:

“Even though Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs hasn’t even hit theaters yet, it seems a fourth Ice Age film has been well underway or the past few months. A friend of mine says the 4th installment sees Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and Scrat frozen solid and accidentally defrosted in a museum in present day.
At this stage the film is being called ‘Ice Age Th4w’.”

I’d love this see this plot carried out! And I like the pun in the title Ice Age Thaw: our Ice Age friends will indeed be defrosted.
This plot would sound as a closure for the Ice Age movie series though…

I wonder: would Scrat the squirrel go nuts for chocolate? I know I do!
Ice Age 4 Scrat Short Film
Fox is releasing a short film to promote Ice Age 4 Continental Drift. The short film, titled Scrat's Continental Crack-Up, focuses on the squirrel Scrat and reveals that he started the whole continental drift thing.
Fox and Blue Sky have announced that the movie Ice Age 4 will be released on July 13, 2012. They said the movie will be in 3D and they also revealed the working title, it's "Ice Age: Continental Drift". The studios execs prefer to play it safe and won't bring our friends of the Ice Age into a modern-day museum. Well it's probably better, because then there's still room for Ice Age 5.

The plot of Ice Age 4 Continental Drift will involve a new journey full of adventures.
